The System Records: Your Anxiety Buddy
We were commissioned by The System Records to produce a music video for the song “Summer Blue” by Your Anxiety Buddy. The song is a haunting exploration of personal pain and the struggle with past trauma, with a minimalist production consisting purely of vocals and piano. The story in the music video was based on a concept by the artist and reflects the song’s themes using a similarly sparse style and beautiful visuals.
We shot the music video on location near Fredericia, Denmark, highlighting the area’s small towns, farmlands, forests, and beaches. For the performance shots, we used long lenses paired with smooth slider movements, and for the story shots, we used wider lenses with handheld slow motion. The project was shot in a single day with a small crew using vintage cinema prime lenses.
